Davao Oriental launches groundbreaking initiative with EōS Organization to implement sustainable energy and water solutions, promising affordable and reliable utilities through innovative technologies.

Davao Oriental government officials and EōS Organization representatives discuss innovative energy and water solutions
The Provincial Government of Davao Oriental is taking bold steps to address longstanding energy and water challenges through innovative and sustainable technologies, marking a significant shift in local infrastructure development.
Tackling Persistent Utility Challenges
Residents have long struggled with high electricity costs and frequent outages, while water access remains a critical concern despite the region's abundant resources. These challenges mirror similar issues faced across the Philippines, where local governments are increasingly focusing on infrastructure modernization to improve public services.
Innovative Solutions Through Global Partnership
EōS Organization, a global sustainable infrastructure firm, has proposed a comprehensive solution incorporating multiple technologies:
- Desalination systems
- Hydro-pumped storage facilities
- Solar power integration
- Waste-to-energy conversion
- Nuclear power options
This initiative aligns with broader regional development efforts, where Mindanao's communities are working together to address shared challenges.
Government Leadership and Community Engagement
Governor Nelson L. Dayanghirang has emphasized the project's potential to provide clean, reliable, and affordable utilities. The initiative builds on successful community development programs, similar to how Davao has effectively mobilized community resources in other sectors.
"We are especially hopeful that through this Zero CapEx Model, we can reduce cost while achieving greater benefits for our people," stated Governor Dayanghirang.
Future Framework Development
The provincial government plans to establish comprehensive Energy and Water Codes, forming a Provincial Water Governance Board to ensure sustainable implementation and management of these innovative solutions.
