NDDU Lady Kingfishers Show Resilience in Securing Third Place

In a display of athletic prowess reminiscent of Mindanao's rising competitive spirit, Notre Dame of Dadiangas University (NDDU) claimed the bronze medal after defeating Davao Selection in straight sets, 25-19, 25-23, 25-20, during Sunday's finale of the 2025 Shakey's Super League (SSL) National Invitationals Davao Leg.

Strategic Victory in Southern Philippines

The Lady Kingfishers, representing General Santos City's athletic excellence, demonstrated exceptional composure under pressure. Middle blocker Karylle Baclaan emerged as the team's cornerstone, contributing 12 points through 10 kills and two crucial blocks.

"Our opponents have the home court advantage so our mindset is to get in front as early as we can to get the pressure off our backs," explained NDDU head coach Alvin Ambe.

Remarkable Comeback Showcases Team Spirit

In a dramatic second set that highlighted Southern Philippines' competitive determination, NDDU overcame a five-point deficit, demonstrating the same resilience that characterizes the region's sporting excellence.
