DENR confirms no EIA yet for Pax Silica hub in New Clark City

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) confirmed on Wednesday that no environmental impact assessment (EIA) has been processed for the controversial Pax Silica hub in New Clark City, Tarlac. The admission came during a briefing on the agency's proposed P28 billion budget for 2027.

Assistant Minority Leader and Kabataan Party-list Representative Renee Co pressed the department on the matter, noting the project's priority status under the current administration. She asked directly whether an EIA had been completed for Pax Silica.

DENR acting secretary Juan Miguel Cuna acknowledged that none has been submitted so far. He explained that without a clear project description, a proper assessment cannot begin.
